    The authors develop a new and direct method for the computation of travelling wave solutions to the system \[ \frac{du_{n}}{dt}\left( t\right) =\left( \alpha +\beta u_{n}+\gamma u_{n}^{2}\right) \left( u_{n-1}-u_{n+1}\right) , \] where \(\alpha ,\) \(\beta ,\) \(\gamma \neq 0\) are constants. Using the substitution \(u_{n}\left( t\right) =u\left( \xi _{n}\right) ,\) \(\xi _{n}=dn+ct+\xi _{0}\) (\(d,c\) constants which are determined later), the authors generate the solitary wave solutions and finally build the periodic solutions. These solutions are rational expressions of \(\sinh ,\) \(\cosh ,\) \(\sin \) and \(\cos\).
