A compact subset of \(\mathbb{R}^n\) is called semi-algebraic if it is the set of points at which a finite family of polynomials is nonnegative. For such sets, the author characterizes the moment sequences in terms of positivity of a linear form on polynomials associated with the given multisequence. The result is applied to characterizing subnormality of certain commuting multioperators.
