    The authors study the existence of two positive solutions for the nonlinear four-point boundary value problem for the one-dimensional \(p\)-Laplacian \[ \begin{gathered} (\phi_p (u'(t)))'+g(t)f(u(t))=0,\quad t \in (0,1),\\ \mu \phi_p (u(0)) -\omega \phi_p(u'(\xi))=0,\\ \rho \phi_p (u(1))+\tau \phi_p(u'(\eta))=0,\\ \end{gathered} \] where \(\phi_p (s)=| s| ^{p-2}s\), \(p>1\), \(f\in C([0, +\infty),[0,+\infty))\), \(g\in C((0, 1),[0,+\infty))\), \(\mu, \rho>0\), \(\omega,\tau\geq 0\) and \(\xi, \eta \in (0,1)\), with \(\xi<\eta\). The main ingredient here is a three functionals fixed point theorem due to \textit{R. I. Avery} and \textit{J. Henderson} [Commun. Appl. Nonlinear Anal. 8, No. 1, 27--36 (2001; Zbl 1014.47025)].
