Let \(e^{At}\) be a strongly continuous operator semigroup on a complex Hilbert space and let \(e^{At}\) be exponentially stable, that is, \[ \| e^{At}\|\leq ce^{-\beta t}\qquad (t\geq 0), \] where \(c\), \(\beta\) are positive constants. Continuing his previous work (see \textit{K. Veselić} [ibid. 280, 241--244 (1998; Zbl 0948.47042)]), the author provides several specific estimates for the constants \(c\) and \(\beta\). For example, one of them is \[ \| e^{At}\|\leq \Biggl(\sup_{0\leq s\leq\| X\|}\| e^{As}\|\Biggr) e^{-(t-\| X\|)/(\| X\|)}, \] where \(X\) is the Lyapunov operator \(X= \int^\infty_0 e^{A^*t}e^{At}dt\). The paper also contains some useful pointwise estimates. The author demonstrates his results with a number of examples, including solutions of the transport equation.
