In previous papers the authors studied abstract regular polytopes, in particular the universal \(\{P_ 1,P_ 2\}\) with facets of type \(P_ 1\) and vertex-figures of type \(P_ 2\), see Math. Z. 201, 209-226 (1989; Zbl 0646.51023), and Adv. Math. 82, No.1, 35-87 (1990; see the review above). In the present paper they classify all finite universal polytopes of type \(\{\) 6,3,p\(\}\) with \(p\leq 6\). In this case the facets are regular toroidal maps \(P_ 1=\{6,3\}_{b,c}\) and \(P_ 2\) is either a Platonic solid \(\{\) 3,3\(\}\), \(\{\) 3,4\(\}\), \(\{\) 3,5\(\}\) or a toroidal map \(\{3,6\}_{b,c}\). The method of the classification is the following: a Hermitian quadratic form is associated with \(\{P_ 1,P_ 2\}\) which is positive definite if and only if \(\{P_ 1,P_ 2\}\) is finite. The corresponding group is essentially a unitary reflexion group generated by reflexions of period 2.
