This paper deals with the finite element formulation of the heat transfer problem for orthotropic materials, where a triangle element with three nodes and a quadrilateral element with four nodes are used. Four examples are presented to illustrate the effect of the material thermal conductive anisotropy on a temperature field. Also the accuracy and efficiency of this method are proved.
