The main aim of this paper is to introduce a kind of super Hamiltonian formalism for nonlinear evolution equations with odd variables and to show that a couple of recently discussed differential operators, related to the SKP hierarchy, are actually examples of such super Hamiltonian operators. After a preliminary section, the author defines a formal vector field on a commutative superalgebra to be evolutionary if it commutes with the odd super derivation \(\theta\), and proves that there is a natural Lie superalgebra structure on the set of evolutionary vector fields. The exterior derivative of elements of the given super algebra is introduced in the next section and shown to lead, through a kind of integration by parts procedure, to the notion of a super Euler derivative. In section 4, a pairing of column vectors whose entries are Euler derivatives is considered, with the aid of a skew symmetric matrix valued differential operator of even parity. This differential operator is said to be super Hamiltonian if the ensuring binary operation satisfies a suitable super Jacobi identity, modulo \(\theta\)-derivatives. The main theorem of the paper has to do with the characterization of such operators. It is applied in the last section to prove that a differential operator introduced by \textit{Yu. I. Manin} and \textit{A. O. Radul} [Commun. Math. Phys. 98, 65-77 (1985; Zbl 0607.35075)] and an operator introduced by the author, with values in matrices of infinite size, are effectively Hamiltonian operators.
