The difficulties usually encountered when one applies the boundary integral equation/boundary element methods (BIE/BEMs) to a solution of a problem in an infinite domain stem from the necessity to impose correctly the radiation conditions and to make a truncation. This paper presents some strategies useful for the application of BIE/BEMs methods for solving half-space problems, by employing the best features of Stokes and Lamb solutions. Some numerical experiments performed for problems with available analytical solutions validate the proposed strategies.
