Computing or even estimating the dimension of a spline space over a Euclidean space of more than one dimension is often very difficult. One reason for this is the dependence on the sometimes difficult geometry of the underlying mesh. For a relatively simple case, namely a so-called T-mesh, the calculation of the dimension of the spline space is described and an explicit dimension formula is established.
