The authors study Strichartz estimates and the well-posedness for the vibrating plate equation with a time-dependent potential \(\partial_t^2 u+\Delta^2 u+V(t,x) u=F(t,x)\) with initial data \(u(0,x)=u_0(x)\) and \(\partial_t u(0,x)=u_1(x)\). Based on the Strichartz estimates for the Schrödinger equation, the authors prove the \(L^q_tL^r_x\) Strichartz estimates for the vibrating plate equation with \(V=0\), for any Schrödinger admissible pair \((q,r)\) (that is \(q, r\geq 2\), \(1/q\leq d/2\;(1/2-1/r)\), \((q,r,d)\neq (2,\infty,2)\)). Then the well-posedness of the problem is proved for the real-valued potential \(V(t,x)\in L^\alpha_I \dot W^{s-2,\beta}\) with \(2/\alpha+d/\beta=s+2\) for some fixed \(s\in [2,d)\), \(\alpha\in [1,\infty)\) and \(\beta\in (1,\infty)\).
