Let \(X\) be a projective variety with fix embedding into some projective space \({\mathbb P} ^n\). The \(k\)th Fano scheme of \(X\) is the moduli space of \(k\)-dimensional linear subspaces of \({\mathbb P}^n\) that are contained in \(X\). These schemes were heavily studied, especially in the case when \(X\) is a hypersurface or a complete intersection in \({\mathbb P}^n\). In case when there are only finitely many such spaces such study has enumerative flavour. The authors study Fano schemes for general complete intersections in a fixed projective toric variety. In particular, they define ``expected dimension'' for these subschemes and in some cases they show that their Fano schemes are non-empty and smooth of the expected dimension. In case when the dimension of Fano scheme is zero they also count the number of connected components.
