Approximation by certain linking operators (Q2192870): Difference between revisions

The authors consider a class of operators linking Bernstein and genuine Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators, studied in [\textit{H. Gonska} and \textit{R. Păltănea}, Czech. Math. J. 60, No. 3, 783--799 (2010; Zbl 1224.41016)]. Using a modification considered in [\textit{H. Khosravian-Arab} et al., Numer. Algorithms 77, No. 1, 111--150 (2018; Zbl 1388.41002)], the order of approximation of the operators is improved. Direct results in terms of modulus of continuity and a Voronovskaja type asymptotic formula for the new operators emphasize this improvement. Numerical examples illustrate the general results.
