    Let \(\mathcal{A}\) be a \(C^{*}\)-algebra and \(\mathbb{B}(\mathcal{H})\) be a set of all bounded linear operators on a complex Hilbert space \(\mathcal{H}\). Let \(\Phi: \mathcal{A}\to\mathbb{B}(\mathcal{H})\) be a unital \(n\)-positive linear map, and \(\Delta(C, \|\cdot\|)=\inf_{\lambda\in \mathbb{C}}\|C-\lambda I\|\) be the \(\|\cdot\|\)-distance of \(C\) from the scalar operators. In this paper, the authors obtain that \[ \|\Phi(AB)-\Phi(A)\Phi(B)\|\leq \Delta(A, \|\cdot\|)\Delta(B, \|\cdot\|) \] for all operators \(A, B\in \mathcal{A}\). Especially, if \(A\) and \(B\) are positive operators satisfying \(\sigma(A), \sigma(B)\in [m,M]\) for positive numbers \(0<m<M\), the result is an extension of Kantorovich type inequality since \(\Delta(A, \|\cdot\|)=\frac{M-m}{2}\) holds in [\textit{J.\,G.\thinspace Stampfli}, Pac.\ J.\ Math.\ 33, 737--747 (1970; Zbl 0197.10501)].
