Denote by \(K(p,e,\alpha,r)\) the closed circular cone with the vertex at \(p\in\mathbb{R}^n\), an axis vector \(e\), of the opening \(\alpha\pi\), \(\alpha\in(0,1)\) and the height \(r\in(0,\infty]\). A domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n, 0\in\Omega\) is said to be \(\alpha\)-accessible, \(\alpha\in[0,1)\) if for every finite point \(p\in\Sigma=\partial\Omega\) there exists a number \(r=r(p)>0\) such that the closed bounded cone \(K(p,p,\alpha,r)\) is included in \(\mathbb{R}^n\setminus\Omega\). The authors obtain characterizations and properties for \(\alpha\)-accessible domains \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n\) with smooth or arbitrary boundaries. The case of \(\alpha\)-accessible domains in \(\mathbb{C}^N\) which are biholomorphically equivalent to the Euclidean open ball is also considered.
