The authors consider the following \(n\)-dimensional second-order nonlinear system on time scales \[ {\mathbf{u}}^{\Delta\Delta}(t)+\lambda {\mathbf{a}}(t) {\mathbf{f}}( {\mathbf{u}}^\sigma(t))=0,\quad t\in [a,b]_{\mathbb{T}} \] with the Sturm-Liouville boundary conditions \[ {\mathbf{\alpha u}}(a)-{ \mathbf{\beta u}}^\Delta (a)=0,\quad { \mathbf{\gamma u}}(\sigma(b))+{ \mathbf{\delta u}}^\Delta(\sigma(b))=0, \] where \({\mathbf{u}}=(u_1,\dots,u_n),\) \(\alpha=\text{diag}[\alpha_1,\dots,\alpha_n],\) \(\beta=\text{diag}[\beta_1,\dots,\beta_n],\) \(\gamma= \text{diag}[\gamma_1,\dots,\gamma_n],\) \(\delta=\text{diag}[\delta_1,\dots,\delta_n].\) Let \(f_0=\sum_{i=1}^n \lim_{\|{\mathbf{u}}\|\rightarrow 0}\frac{f^i( {\mathbf{u}}) }{\|{ \mathbf{u}}\|}\) and \(f_\infty=\sum_{i=1}^n \lim_{\|{\mathbf{u}}\|\rightarrow \infty}\frac{f^i( {\mathbf{u}}) }{\|{ \mathbf{u}}\|}\). Define \(i_0=\) number of zeros in the set \(\{f_0,f_\infty\} \) and \(i_\infty=\) number of infinities in the set \(\{f_0,f_\infty\} \). By using fixed point index theory, they show that: (i) if \(i_0=1\) or 2, then there exists \(\lambda_0>0\) such that the system has \(i_0\) positive solution(s) for \(\lambda>\lambda_0\); (ii) if \(i_\infty=1\) or 2, then there exists \(\lambda_0>0\) such that the system has \(i_0\) positive solution(s) for \(0<\lambda<\lambda_0\); (iii) if \(i_0=0\) or \(i_\infty=0\), then the system has no positive solution for sufficiently large or small \(\lambda>0\), respectively. For the continuous case, one can read the paper of \textit{H. Wang} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 281, No.~1, 287--306 (2003; Zbl 1036.34032)].
