\textit{M. Levi} [Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 244, 147 p. (1981; Zbl 0448.34032)] gives the geometric description of annulus maps associated with the forced van der Pol equation \(\varepsilon \ddot x + \varphi(x) \dot x + \varepsilon x = bp(t)\). In the article under review it is shown that for certain values of \(b\) the full attracting sets of these annulus maps can be realized as inverse limits of circles. It is also proved that the annulus map is topologically conjugate to the shift homeomorphism on the inverse limit space.
