    The (logarithmic) Mahler measure \(m(P)\) of a non-zero Laurent polynomial \( P\in \mathbb{C}[x^{\pm 1},y^{\pm 1}]\) is the quantity \(\int_{0}^{1} \int_{0}^{1}\log \left\vert P(\exp (i2\pi t_{1}),\exp (i2\pi t_{2}))\right\vert dt_{1}dt_{2}.\) It is known that for certain types of polynomials this measure is related to special values of \(L\)-functions. The author of the paper under review continues to study Mahler's families of measures \[ n(k)=m(x^{3}+y^{3}+1-kxy), \] and \[ g(k)=m((1+x)(1+y)(x+y)-kxy), \] which were early investigated by D. Boyd and \textit{F. Rodriguez Villegas} [in: Topics in number theory. In honor of B. Gordon and S. Chowla. Proceedings of the conference, Pennsylvania State University, USA, 1997. Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic Publishers. 17--48 (1999; Zbl 0980.11026)]. Mainly, he proves the following conjectural identities of Boyd: \begin{align*} n(-1) &=\frac{7}{\pi ^{2}}L(f_{14},2), \\ n(5) &=\frac{49}{2\pi ^{2}}L(f_{14},2), \\ g(1) &=\frac{7}{2\pi ^{2}}L(f_{14},2), \\ g(7) &=\frac{21}{\pi ^{2}}L(f_{14},2), \\ g(-8) &=\frac{35}{\pi ^{2}}L(f_{14},2). \end{align*} where \(f_{14}\) is the eta-product \(\eta (\tau )\eta (2\tau )\eta (7\tau )\eta (14\tau ),\) which is a newform of weight \(2\) and level \(14.\)
