    Let \(0<s<1\) and \(1<p,q< \infty\). Then \[ \|f \, | \dot{W}^s_p (\mathbb R^n) \| = \Big\| \frac{f(x) - f(y)}{|x-y|^{\frac{n}{p} +s}} \, \Big| L_p (\mathbb R^{2n}) \Big\| \] are the (semi-)norms for the special homogeneous Besov spaces \(\dot{W}^s_p (\mathbb R^n) = \dot{B}^s_{p,p} (\mathbb R^n)\). Let \(\dot{F}^s_{p,q} (\mathbb R^n)\) be defined by the usual Fourier-analytical decomposition. Theorem~1.2 compares the related norms of \(\dot{W}^s_p (\mathbb R^n)\) and \(\dot{F}^s_{p,p} (\mathbb R^n)\) for fixed \(p\) with \(1<p<\infty\) in dependence on \(s\), especially what happens if \(s \downarrow 0\) and \(s\uparrow 1\). Theorem~1.5 deals with corresponding problems for \(\dot{W}^s_p (\mathbb R^n)\) and the homogeneous Sobolev spaces \(\dot{F}^s_{p,2} (\mathbb R^n)\). These are the main results of the paper. They are compared with what is already known (as indicated in the title).
