The author proves the following result. Theorem. Let \(X\) be a singular factorial Fano \(3\)-fold with isolated canonical singularities. Then the Picard number of \(X\) is at most \(6\). The proof is based on a lemma which studies contractions of Fano \(3\)-folds with large Picard number.
