Set \(\mathbb H= \{ \tau\in\mathbb C ; \Im(\tau)>0\}\). Let \(m\) and \(n\) be distinct integers and \(\tau\in\mathbb H\). Then the authors prove that at least two of numbers \(e^{\pi i\tau}\), \(1+2\sum_{j=1}^\infty e^{\pi in\tau j^2}\) and \(1+2\sum_{j=1}^\infty e^{\pi im\tau j^2}\) are algebraically independent over \(\mathbb Q\). In particular, the two numbers \(1+2\sum_{j=1}^\infty e^{\pi in\tau j^2}\) and \(1+2\sum_{j=1}^\infty e^{\pi im\tau j^2}\) are algebraically independent over \(\mathbb Q\) for any \(\tau\in\mathbb H\) such that \(e^{\pi i\tau}\) is an algebraic number.
