The authors develop a new quadrature blending scheme. It it shown that this scheme minimizes the dispersion error of isogeometric analysis up to polynomial order seven having maximum continuity in the span. Additionally, it is shown that there exists superconvergence for the eigenvalues. Precisely, the eigenvalues converge with two additional orders of magnitude. The eigenfunction error is shown to be optimal. Therefore, the new resulting schemes increase on the one hand the accuracy and on the other hand the robustness of isogeometric analysis for both wave propagation and differential eigenvalue problems. Further, an a posteriori error estimate is established for the eigenvalue error. Finally, numerical results are provided that complement the theoretical findings.
