A higher dimensional windowed Fourier transform in the framework of Clifford analysis is constructed. It is called the Clifford windowed Fourier transform (abbreviated CWFT). This generalization also yields Clifford Gabor filters, which are well localized both in the spatial and Clifford Fourier domain. Based on the spectral representation of the Clifford Fourier transform, several important properties of the CWFT are derived, such as the shift and modulation property, the orthogonality relation, the reconstruction formula and the reproducing kernel property. Moreover, an example is presented to show the differences between the classical windowed Fourier transform and the CWFT. Finally, a Heisenberg type uncertainty principle for the CWFT is established. The proof of this principle involves the properties of the CWFT and the uncertainty principle for the Clifford Fourier transform.
