The author introduces and studies the concept of Li-Yorke sensitivity for semigroup actions \((X,G)\). In particular, he proves that a nontrivial topologically weakly mixing system \((X,G)\) (with \(X\) a compact set and \(G\) an abelian semigroup) is Li-Yorke sensitive.
