The authors consider an Arrovian social welfare function and a relaxation of Arrow's independence of irrelevant alternatives which they called ``independence of some alternative'' and they prove that with four alternatives and an even number of individuals there is no social welfare function satisfying the Pareto principle, universality, anonymity and independence of some alternative.
