Maximal surfaces in the Lorentz-Minkowski space are space-like immersions that maximize area locally. Like the minimal surfaces in \(\mathbb{R}^3\), they are zero mean curvature surfaces. \textit{F. J. M. Estudillo} and \textit{A. Romero} [Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 111, No. 3, 515--524 (1992; Zbl 0824.53061)] the maximal surfaces with singularities, named by them generalized maximal immersions. Singularities of generalized maximal immersions are of two types, branched and non-branched, the latter being those where the bounding tangent plane contains a light-like vector. The maxface, introduced by \textit{M. Umehara} and \textit{K. Yamada} [Hokkaido Math. J. 35, No. 1, 13--40 (2006; Zbl 1109.53016)], is a non-branched generalized maximal immersion, whose singularities are frontals. When a connected component of the set of singular points of the maxface \(X\) consists of generalized cone-like singular points, the authors construct a sequence of maxfaces \(X_n,\) with an increasing number of swallowtails, converging to the maxface \(X\). They give an example of a sequence of maxfaces having an increasing number of swallowtails converging to the Lorentzian Catenoid.
