The author considers the boundedness of Hardy-type operators on Morrey spaces. Morrey spaces \(L^{p, \lambda} ({\mathbb R}^n)\) are defined by \[ L^{p, \lambda} ({\mathbb R}^n) := \Big\{f : \| f \|_{L^{p, \lambda}} = \sup_{x,r} \bigg( \frac{1}{r^{\lambda}} \int_{ | x-y | <r} | f(y) |^p \, dy \bigg)^{1/p} < \infty \Big\}. \] Let \[ H_{\gamma}^{\alpha} f(x) := | x |^{\gamma + \alpha -n} \int_{| y | < | x |} \frac{f(y)}{ | y |^{\gamma}} \, dy. \] The following result is obtained: Let \(0 < \lambda <n,\;0 < \alpha < n - \lambda, \;1 \leq p < (n-\lambda)/\alpha\) and \(1/q = 1/p -\alpha/(n - \lambda)\). The operator \(H_{\gamma}^{\alpha}\) is bounded from \(L^{p, \lambda} ({\mathbb R}^n)\) to \(L^{q, \lambda} ({\mathbb R}^n)\) if and only if \(\gamma < n/p' + \lambda/p\). The author also considers generalized Hardy operators \(H_{\varphi}^{\alpha}\). As a corollary, the boundedness of the potential operator \(I^{\alpha}f(x) = \int_{{\mathbb R}^n} f(y)/| x-y |^{n-\alpha} \, dy\) on weighted Morrey spaces is proved. Weighted Morrey spaces are defined by \[ L^{p, \lambda}(w, {\mathbb R}^n) := \{ f: wf \in L^{p, \lambda}({\mathbb R}^n) \}. \]
