This work considers two coupled time-independent Gross-Pitaevskii equations, which describe two-component Bose-Einstein condensates with different trapping potentials different for each of the components and taking into account the chemical potentials, the interaction strengths of intraspecies and interspecies interactions. The principal results are connected with proving conditions of existence (or non-existence) of solutions considered via the constrained minimization problem leading to the eigenvalue problem for the system of Euler-Lagrange equations (non-linear Schrödinger equations equivalent to the initial Gross-Pitaevskii system).
