For an entire function \(f\) and an open set \(U\) intersecting the Julia set \(J(f)\) of \(f\), the rates of how fast \(\sup_{z\in U}(f^n)^\#(z)\) and \(\int_{U}(f^n)^\#(z)^2dxdy\) tend to infinity are studied. Explicit bounds for the growth rates are obtained. Here \(f^n\) is the \(n\)-th iterate of \(f\) and \(f^{\#}\) is the spherical derivative of \(f\). In addition, the growth rate of the sequence \((f^n)^\#(z)\) is studied for \(z\in J(f)\).
