Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be separable Banach spaces. The following Stepanov-type theorem is the main result. \newline Theorem. Suppose that (in addition)\smallskip i)\ \(Y\) has the Radon-Nikodým property,\smallskip ii)\ each porous subset of \(Y\) is \(\Gamma\)-null,\smallskip iii)\ the space \({\mathcal L}(X,Y)\) is separable.\newline Then, for each open subset \(G\) of \(X\) and each mapping \(f:G\to Y\), the subset \(M(G,f)\) of all \(x\in G\), where \(f\) is Lipschitz at \(x\) but not Fréchet differentiable at \(x\), is \(\Gamma\)-null. \smallskip Further extensions of this result are then given, based on the condition ``\(f\) is Lipschitz at \(x\)'' being substituted by the weaker condition ``\(f\) is directionally Lipschitz at \(x\) (in some sense)''.
