In this paper the authors introduce a new class of rings( PMF-rings), defined as the rings in which every P-flat module is flat. They prove that an integral domain is PMF iff it is \( Pr\ddot{u}fer\) and, in general, that a ring \(R\) is PMF iff it is a von Newman regular ring or also iff every principal ideal is pure. Property PMF is proved to be local. The transfer of the PMF property to the amalgamation \(R\bowtie I\), for \(I\) ideal of \(R\), and to the trivial extension \(R\propto E\), where \(E\) is an \(R\)-module, is carefully studied, giving rise to new examples of PMF rings.
