    Thema der Arbeit ist die Horosphären-Transformation \(f\mapsto{\mathfrak H}f\) im hyperbolischen Raum \(\mathbb{H}^n\). Der Autor wählt als Modell für \(\mathbb{H}^n\) die obere Schale des zweischaligen Hyperboloids. Auf der Grundlage des Modells erhält er konkrete explizite Formeln. Der Autor hebt zwei Methoden zur Gewinnung von Inversionsformeln für Integraltransformationen vom Radonschen Typ in Räumen konstanter Krümmung hervor, nämlich (a) die Verwendung von Mittelwert-Operatoren und (b) die Verwendung von Polynomen des Laplace-Beltrami-Operators. Der Autor zeigt nun, dass beide Methoden für die Horosphären-Transformation in \(\mathbb{H}^n\) geeignet sind. Die Methode (a) beruht auf der verschobenen dualen Horosphären-Transformation \({\mathfrak H}^*_x\varphi(t)\) von \(\varphi={\mathcal H}f\), wo \(\varphi\) über alle Horosphären gemittelt wird, die von \(x\in\mathbb{H}^n\) den Abstand \(|t|\) haben. Man setzt nun \(\psi_x(s)= (2\pi e^{-t})^{(1-n)/2}({\mathfrak H}^*_x\varphi(t))|_{t=\cosh^{-1}s}\) und erhält die Inversionsformel \[ f(x)= \lim_{s\to 1}({\mathcal D}^{(n-1)/2}_- \psi_x)(s), \] wobei \({\mathcal D}^{(n-1)/2}_-\) die Riemann-Liouville-Ableitung ist. Während die Methode (a) auf \(L^P\)-Funktionen anwendbar ist, muss man für die Methode (b) die Funktion \(f\) als \(C^\infty_c\)-Funktion voraussetzen. Hier erfolgt die Inversion in Termen von Polynomen des Laplace-Beltrami-Operators, wobei sich das jeweilige Polynom aus einem Analogon des Riesz-Potentials ergibt. Bei beiden Methoden (a) und (b) ist die Fallunterscheidung ``\(n\) geradzahlig'' oder ``\(n\) ungeradzahlig'' wesentlich.
