The Gödel group is the four-dimensional simply connected Lie group \(M\) with Lie algebra defined by the bracket relation: \([e_ 4,e_ 1]=e_ 1\). Taking a Lorentz form at the identity, and spreading it over \(M\) by left translations, \(M\) is turned into a homogeneous Lorentz manifold. The article provides detailed calculations regarding geodesics and Ricci tensor of this manifold. Spacelike and timelike vectors are discussed, as well as geodesic completeness, and causality.
