The author gives a solution to the problem of infrared mass renormalization in non-relativistic quantum electrodynamics, the mathematical theory of non-relativistic quantum mechanical matter interacting with the quantized electromagnetic radiation. Uniform upper and lower bounds on the renormalization electron mass are derived. A main goal of the present work is to extend the isospectral renormalization group method of \textit{V. Bach} et al. [J. Funct. Anal. 203, No. 1, 44--92 (2003; Zbl 1060.47028); ibid. 243, No. 2, 426--535 (2007; Zbl 1118.81028)] based on the smooth Feshbach map, to models in quantum field theory which are strictly marginal. To prove uniform boundedness of the interaction, the strong induction principle is invoked and combined it with composition identities satisfied by the smooth Feshbach map.
