The Cox ring of an algebraic variety with torus action (Q990754): Difference between revisions

The authors investigate the Cox ring of a normal complete variety \(X\) with algebraic torus action. The first result represents the Cox ring of \(X\) through the Cox ring of a maximal geometric quotient of \(X\). For varieties with torus action of complexity one the descriptions are given in terms of generators and relations as well as in terms of polyhedral divisors. As a consequence, the authors give a description for \(K^*\)-surfaces in terms of Orlik-Wagreich graphs. Examples list Cox rigns for all del Pezzo \(K^*\)-surfaces with Picard number at most two, projectivizations of rank two vector bundles and cotangent bundles over toric varieties.
