The present work concerns further developments in the theory of noncommutative differential geometry. More specifically, from a Hopf algebra \(A\) and a suitable Drinfeld-Radford-Yetter module \(\Lambda^{1}\) over \(A\), one may construct bicovariant differential graded algebras and structures on these generalising those of classical differential calculus. The main target in this article is the Hodge star operator. By the use of braided categories and the theory of super-Hopf algebras, the author introduces a Hodge star operator \(\sharp\), via a super-braided Fourier transform. This operator \(\sharp\) is determined by the chosen noncommutative differential calculus, rather than being imposed externally, and has the surprising feature that its square need not be of order two. In two detailed examples explained in the paper, of calculi on (i) the symmetric group of degree 3 and (ii) on \(SL_{2}\), one has respectively \(\sharp\) of order six, or \(\sharp\) satisfying the \(q\)-Hecke relation \(\sharp^{2}=\mathrm{id}+(q-q^{-1})\sharp\).
