Let \(H\) be a complex Hilbert space and \(A:H \rightarrow H\) a bounded linear operator. The numerical radius of \(A\) is given by \[ \omega(A)=\sup\{|\langle Ax,x\rangle|:x\in H,\,\|x\|=1\}. \] The authors prove some new estimates for the numerical radius of the sum of two operators \(A\) and \(B\). They also prove an inequality for \(\|A+B\|\) which refines the triangle inequality.
