Let \(f\) and \(g\) be two meromorphic functions in the open complex plane \(\mathbb{C}\) and \(k\) be a positive integer or infinity. For \(a \in \mathbb{C} \cup \{\infty\}\) let us denote by \(E_{k}(a;f)\) the set of all \(a\)-points of \(f\) where an \(a\)-point of multiplicity \(m\) is counted \(m\) times if \(m \leq k\) and \(k + 1\) times if \(m > k\). If \(E_{k}(a;f) = E_{k}(a;g)\), we say that \(f\) and \(g\) share that value \(a\) with weight \(k\), which we express by writing \(f\) and \(g\) share \((a, k)\). This idea was introduced by the reviewer in 2001 [``Weighted sharing and uniqueness of meromorphic functions'', Nagoya Math. J., 161, 193--206 (2001; Zbl 0981.30023)]; [''Weighted sharing and uniqueness of meromorphic functions'', Complex Var. Theory Appl., 46, 241--253 (2001; Zbl 1025.30027)]. Also \(f\) and \(g\) share \(a\) value CM ( counting multiplicities ) or IM (ignoring multiplicities ) if and only if \(f\), \(g\) share \((a, \infty)\) or \((a; 0)\) respectively. In the paper under review using the notion of weighted value sharing the author improves some uniqueness theorems which were previously proved for functions sharing three values CM. Among other results he proves that if \(f\) and \(g\) share \((0, 1)\), \((1, \infty)\), \((\infty, \infty)\) then the ratios \(T(r,f)/ T(r,g)\) and \(T(r,g)/ T(r,f)\) lie in between \(\frac{1}{2} + o(1)\) and \(2 + o(1)\) as \(r \to \infty\) except possibly for a set of finite linear measure.
