The paper is concerned with discontinuous differential equations of atmospheric Ekman flows with eddy viscosity having a piecewise form. Both local and global analysis are performed. In the local analysis the authors provide the possible crossings of solutions over a certain discontinuity associated with a curve, while in the global analysis they obtain crossings of solutions, as well as bounded and unbounded solutions.
