The authors, investigate \(C^1\)-umbilics. Umbilics are points on a surface where the curvature is the same in any direction. That is, locally, the surface is spherical. The authors develop a new theorem and corollary, with proofs, to satisfy the primary claim that \(C^1\)-umbilics with arbitrarily large indices exist. This paper demonstrates the claim with several supporting lemmata. However, no applications are demonstrated.
