For a ring \(R\), it is proved that the Gruson-Jensen functor \[ D:\text{fp}(\mathbf{Mdd}(R),\mathbf{Ab})\longrightarrow(\mathbf{mod}(R),\mathbf{Ab})^{\mathrm{op}} \] is part of a recollement of abelian categories by constructing full embeddings as left and right adjoints. This implies that the 0-th right pure derived functor preserves finitely presentedness of functors on \(\mathbf{Mdd}(R)\). A similar recollement with \(D\) replaced by \(\mathbf{mod}(\mathbf{Mdd}(R))\rightarrow\mathbf{Mdd}(\mathbf{mod}(R))\) was considered by \textit{H. Krause} [Colloq. Math. 75, No. 1, 105--132 (1998; Zbl 0893.18006)].
