The blow-up phenomenon of smooth solution to the Navier-Stokes equations is investigated in terms of the dyadic BMO-norms. Let \((u,p)\) be the strong solution to the Cauchy problem \[ \begin{cases} \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}-\Delta u+u\cdot\nabla u+\nabla p=0,\quad \text{div}\,u=0, \quad x\in R^n,\;t\in(0,T),\\ u|_{t=0}=a,\end{cases} \] where \(a\) is a given vector-function from \(H^s_\sigma\) with \(s>n/2-1\). If \[ \int_{\epsilon_0}^T \| u(t) \|^2_{BMO^{dy}}dt<\infty, \quad \text{for some}\;0<\epsilon_0<T, \] then \(u\) can be continued to the strong solution on the time interval \((0,T')\) for some \(T'>T\). Here \(\text{BMO}^{dy}\) denotes the class of functions that is a little wider than BMO. The result is based on the bilinear estimates in dyadic BMO. The difference between BMO and \(\text{BMO}^{dy}\) is discussed in the paper. | |||
