The authors consider positive radial solutions of the nonlinear elliptic equation \[ | \nabla u|^\beta M^+_{\lambda,\Lambda}\left( D^2 u\right)+u^p=0\text{ in }\mathbb{R}^N \] where \( M^+_{\lambda,\Lambda}\) denotes Pucci's extremal operator (i.e., \( M^+_{\lambda,\Lambda}(M)=\Lambda\sum_{e_i>0}e_i+\lambda\sum_{e_i<0}e_i\), where \(e_1,\dots,e_N\) are the eigenvalues of \(M\) and \(\Lambda\geq\lambda>0\)), \(-1<\beta<0\) and \(p>1\). They extend the results of \textit{P. L. Felmer} and \textit{A. Quaas} [Ann. Inst. Henri Poincaré, Anal. Non Linéaire 20, No. 5, 843--865 (2003; Zbl 1274.35115)]. The authors establish the existence of a critical exponent \(p^\star_+\) that determines the range of the exponents \( p > 1\) for which there exists a positive radial solution. In addition, in some cases, qualitative properties of the solutions are obtained.
