Let \(X\) be a normal complex algebraic variety endowed with an effective codimension one torus action. Such varieties are described by \textit{K.~Altmann}, \textit{J.~Hausen} and \textit{H.~Süss} [Transform. Groups 13, No. 2, 215--242 (2008; Zbl 1159.14025)] in terms of so-called divisorial fans on a smooth projective curve \(Y\). The aim of this paper is to develop this description and to characterize torus invariant divisors. Cartier divisors on \(X\) are given by piecewise affine functions \(h\) on the divisorial fan whereas Weil divisors correspond to certain zero and one-dimensional faces of it. The authors provide descriptions of the divisor class group and the canonical divisor. Global sections of the line bundle \(\mathcal{O}(D_h)\) are determined by a subset of a weight polytope associated to \(h\) and global sections of specific line bundles on the curve \(Y\). In the last section the obtained results are compared with those of \textit{H.~Flenner} and \textit{M.~Zaidenberg} [Osaka J. Math. 40, No. 4, 981--1009 (2003; Zbl 1093.14084)].
