A block \(b\) of a finite group \(G\) is called inertial if it is basically Morita equivalent to the corresponding block \(\widehat e\) of the inertial group \(N\) of \(b\). Let \(H\) be a normal subgroup of \(G\), then a block \(c\) of \(H\) is a normal sub-block of \(b\) if \(cb\neq 0\). The main result of the paper is that if \(b\) is inertial then \(c\) is inertial as well. The paper produces many more deep properties of the correspondences between such blocks.
