The Trotter product formula \((e^{-tA/n} e^{-tB/n})^n\to e^{-t(A+B)}\) is a very important tool for studying semigroups formally generated by sums of two semigroups generators. The paper strengthens previous results valid for non-negative self-adjoint \(A\) and \(B\) assuming that \(B\) is a closed maximal accretive operator relatively bounded with respect to \(A\). The convergence is proved in the operator norm with the error bound estimate \(\sim \ln n/n\). The authors show also that \(-(A+B)\) generates a holomorphic contraction semigroup in this case.
