The notions of \(P\)-compatible identities and hybrid identities are unified to a new concept. A main result is the following theorem. Let \(K\) be a variety of type \(\tau\). Then \(\text{Mod} P(K)\) is solid if and only if \(\Sigma [P(K)] \cong P (\text{Hd} (K))\).
