The author [Arch. Math. 49, 166-178 (1987; Zbl 0601.05006)] constructed strictly Steiner quadruple system \(sSQS(2.5^{\alpha})\). Here, the construction is extended to obtain sSQS \((2p^{\alpha})\), \(p=5(12)\) provided sSQS(2p) exists containing the base quadruples \(\{0,i,2i,v/2+i\}\), \(i=1,2,...,(v-2)/4\) and all orbits invariant under the mapping \(i\to +i(mod v)\).
