A function \(\varphi\) defined on the real axis is called a weight if \(\varphi\geq 0\), \(\varphi\in C(E_\varphi)\) where \[ E_\varphi= \text{supp} \varphi,\lim_{x\to\infty} |x|^n \varphi(x)=0 \quad \text{for any } n\geq 0. \] In the usual way the Banach space \(C^0_\varphi\) is defined as follows: \[ f\in C^0_\varphi \text{ if } \lim_{x\to\infty} \varphi(x)f(x)=0,\;|f |_\varphi =\sup_{x\in E_\varphi} \varphi(x) \bigl|f(x)\bigr|. \] The weight is quasianalytic if the polynomials are dense in \(C^0_\varphi\). The quasianalytic weight is normal if it remains quasianalytic after redifinition on an arbitrary finite set. The author proves: 1) let \(\varphi\) be the quasianalytic weight, \(\varphi_0\) is the weight, \(\delta>0\), \(\lim_{x\to\infty} e^{\delta|x|} \varphi_0(x)=0\). Then \(\varphi+\varphi_0\) is a quasianalytic weight, 2) let \(\psi\) be a weight, \(\psi|_{[0,\infty)}\) is a normally quasianalytic weight, \(\psi(x)= \exp({-|x |\over L(|x|)})\) if \(x<0\) where \(L(r)\) is continuously differentiable, steadly increasing to \(+\infty\) with \(r\), \(r{L'(r) \over L(r)} \to 0\) as \(r\to\infty\), \(\int^\infty_1 {dr \over rL(r)}= +\infty\). Then \(\psi\) is the normal quasianalytic weight. The author says that his investigation is based on the de Branges approach and that he improves earlier results of V. P. Gurarij and A. Volberg giving a more complete answer on the question posed by L. Ehrenpreis and S. N. Mergelyan.
