The paper deals with spectral projection and related methods for the numerical solution of Hammerstein integral equations with weakly singular kernels. Error estimates are provided in \(L_2\) and \(L_\infty\) norms under certain smoothness assumptions on the exact solutions. In view of the singularities in the kernel, this reviewer believes that these smoothness assumptions will be satisfied only in exceptional situations.
