Tilting modules and partial tilting modules that may be infinitely generated are studied over general rings. The main tools are perpendicular categories and the associated ring homomorphisms; in particular, a characterization is given when these maps are perfect localizations (homological epimorphisms). The main interest of the authors, who in this way continue their earlier work [see Commun. Algebra 25, No. 10, 3225-3237 (1997; Zbl 0893.16017)], is in establishing lattice isomorphisms between certain intervals of lattices of (tilting) torsion classes. Along the way they prove several technical results on tilting classes and perpendicular categories, which may be of interest in other contexts, too.
